Pretty clear we stand a good chance of facing a relegation scrap. So we won't stand a chance of signing anyone established. They need to drop the idea of a 20 mil striker and find some decent talent who are prepared for a scrap. Whether that comes from the Prem, the Championship or Europe. Forget South America. We've got flare players, we need well drilled machines. Our target model has to have changed since the beginning of the season.
If they don't recognise that and continue to attempt to sign players who teams like Spurs and Liverpool are after then they need shooting. Up against them we won't stand a chance.
We took 3 steps forward last season and now taken 5 back. We made progression to warrant being interested in signing relatively big name players (although I still think we were a little over ambitious and wasted a lot of time on players who were never going to come). Were we to have had a good start, by Jan we would have been in good shape to justify challenging the top teams for the top players. But sadly, now we're probably looking at the same pot of players that West Brom and Watford are looking at signing.

No dispute in my mind that despite WHU being higher up the Forbes value list than Everton the toffees are the bigger club. Throughout my football supporting years that has been the case and Everton deserve their status as one of the two longest top division serving teams.
